The SEAT Leon e-HYBRID has been named Best Small Plug-in Hybrid Car at the 2021 Driving Electric Awards.
Each Driving Electric Award winner is the best electric of its kind to buy across 17 different categories according to the website’s panel of expert reviewers.
Launched in late-Autumn, the Leon e-HYBRID has already established itself as a leader of its class, combining drive appeal with practicality and impressive financial figures.
With a 40-mile EV range and CO2 emissions as low as 27g/km, the Leon e-HYBRID is rated at 6 per cent Benefit in Kind, making it an attractive option for company car drivers.
A starting price of £30,970 with FR trim as standard gives drivers a selection of drive modes and sports suspension, as well as a variety of pleasantries such as wireless phone charging and heated door mirrors for a competitive price.
Richard Ingram, Editor at Driving Electric, said: "Competition in the plug-in hybrid market has intensified this year, with many new models joining the fray. The SEAT Leon has long given its rivals a hard time, and that’s still the case now it's offered as a PHEV. A 6 per cent company-car tax rating, plus the availability of a practical ST estate, great in-car technology and a satisfying driving experience, combine to make this a real company-car star – and worth considering for private buyers, too."
Richard Harrison, SEAT UK Managing Director, said: “There are many reasons why the Leon has been our best-seller in recent years, and the latest generation model builds on these qualities, introducing emission-free electric driving for the city, as well as a fun and dynamic drive on the open road.”
