No. If you're driving a Mii electric, you won't have to pay the London congestion charge. Don't forget that you are required to complete a discount application form on the Transport for London (TFL) website in order to be exempt from the charges and this needs to be renewed every year.
Zero emission vehicles costing no more than £40,000, like Mii electric, are exempt from VED. A premium rate does however apply to vehicles that cost £40,000 or more.
Whilst a three-pin socket can charge your Mii electric at home, a home wall box is recommended due to lower energy demands and significantly shorter charge time. In fact, it can charge your Mii electric three times faster than a three-pin plug and ensures that the vehicle receives a full night of uninterrupted fast charge.
The average overnight electricity rate is approximately 14p per kWh. This means that charging your Mii electric could cost only around £5.29, or about 3p per mile!
Mii electric has a 36.8 kWh battery. This means it takes four hours on a standard home wall box or a public charge point to get to 80 per cent of battery (giving you over 120 miles of range).
It has 61 KW of power, which is equivalent to 83PS making the Mii electric similarly powered to a standard 1.0 to 1.2 litre (non-turbo) petrol engine.
The combined range is 160 miles*. Most drivers in the UK drive an average of 25 miles a day, which means that you would only have to charge your Mii electric every six days. If you confine that to the city, with a range of 222 miles*, that would increase to nearly 9 days!
Mii electric boasts 251 litres of boot space, which is bigger than most city cars.
Mii electric will be the first SEAT to offer a connected car experience through the new SEAT Connect app. You'll be able to control certain features of your Mii electric through the app such as setting a heating timer so that on cold wintry days, your Mii is heated up and ready to go, before you even unlock the doors! The SEAT Connect app will become available in early 2020.
SEAT UK recommends Pod Point as the main supplier for installing customer charging points. It’s one of the UK's leading providers of electric vehicle charging.
Pod Point will assist customers through the whole process. They start with a pre-installation consultation, manage the home-grant scheme on the customer's behalf and finish with a full demonstration to make sure customers understand how to charge their vehicle using their new Pod Point wall box.
Full details can be found in the Pod Point website https://pod-point.com
