First Drives

The first British journalists to get behind the wheel of the New Ateca attended our exclusive pre-drive workshop on Wednesday 16 March in Barcelona. These key UK motoring publications including CAR, What Car?, Auto Express, Autocar, Top Gear, Parkers plus The Sun newspaper were able to try out our New Ateca on demanding road and off-road routes. Here's just a selection of their opinions of the first time they got behind the wheel.

What Car?

"However, it's the Ateca’s wholesome package of affordability, quality, space and driver appeal that make it worth delaying your SUV purchase for. "Our best advice would be to hold off making an SUV purchase if you can. This SEAT Ateca could well be the one to beat when it starts arriving in showrooms in August."

Auto Express

"It’s spacious, fun to drive and stylish, and comes at an incredibly competitive price. Hold off on that Qashqai order until you’ve tried one of these."

"Unless you’re in an immediate need to chop in your current car, the SEAT Ateca’s worth waiting for.... SEAT may have arrived later than ideal at the SUV party but the Ateca’s more memorable – and more fun – than most in this segment."
