The Leon rolls out of the factory equipped with six airbags as standard: two front, two side and two curtain airbags. Additional two rear thorax airbags may also be fitted upon request (not available on Reference or Reference Sport). The passenger frontal airbag can also feature a disconnection facility in the glove box.

Driver and drivers side passenger benefit from the security of a fire retardant, electronic safety belt with pretensioner and load limiter, while children are well cared for as child seats fit directly onto the chassis using the Isofix system, which comes as standard.

To complete the story, each of the safety features is firmly and solidly encased within a crash-test proven cage.
