At SEAT we understand that car drivers take on a great responsibility, but the car makers carry an even greater one. Our responsibility to care for the environment is one that we take very seriously so, with this in mind, we have committed ourselves to a sustainable environmental programme, a commitment to preserve, conserve and restore our natural resources.

We are applying our special innovational SEAT spirit to ensure that our commitment to sustainability continues to reflect the ethos of the company... Always thinking ahead.

With this in mind we have established a number of protocols to ensure the long-term sustainability of the environment.

Sustainable
We only use materials that are compatible with environmental protection, avoiding the use of harmful substances in so far as is possible, and priority is also given to renewable materials and to the use of those materials which contain recycled material.

Production
From the drawing board design through to the factory floor we always opt for the most friendly production processes using the best available economically-viable technology. Our vehicles must contain the highest possible proportion of recyclable material so that, in accordance with European Directive 2000/53/CE which relates to the disposal of vehicles, it fits in with our principle of prevention before reduction, reduction before re-use and re-use before recycling.

Design
As we all know the main environmental impact of the vehicle is during use. Therefore we are committed to the minimisation of petrol consumption, designing and redesigning engines to make them more energy efficient, the installation of catalytic converters and the constant strive for lighter, more aerodynamic chassis.

We are also committed to the design of water-tight fitting in out plants to eliminate the danger of pollution and to reduce the usage of water.
