SEAT FLEET SALES SOAR IN A RECORD SEPTEMBER

BUSINESS IS BOOMING

This month our burgeoning SEAT fleet and business sales operation is celebrating an incredible doubling of September registrations. This is part of an astounding 14% YTD increase in sales - in a market that has only risen 4%.

With September's sales accounted for, and the official Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders' (SMMT) figures published, we can confirm that our share of the hard-fought fleet market has soared to a record 2.5% and 3,830 in sales. That's a remarkable 100.7% increase compared to September 2010 which was, itself, a very strong month.

THE PROOF IS IN THE PERFORMANCE

Our strategy to become a fleet manufacturer of choice was launched in late 2009 and the momentous September sales surge highlights the success of this campaign, which continues to draw in fleet and business customers attracted by our mix of style, quality and desirability.

Commenting on the especially strong September performance, SEAT UK National Fleet Sales Manager Sally Livingstone-Dennis said: 'These fabulous figures underline the success we are having out there in what is, and I think will remain, a very tough fleet market.

'The initiatives we have put in place over the past couple of years - investments in both people and systems - are now bearing fruit and I'm convinced that this successful performance will continue.'

STRENGTHENING OUR TEAM

Last year we opened our flagship SEAT Fleet Business Centre, designed to work as an extension to the SEAT UK Fleet and Business field sales team and dealer network. Offering phone and online support, the centre makes our fleet and business sales operation easily accessible and improves the overall customer experience.

It operates as a first port of call, letting SEAT fleet and business customers get the latest information quickly and simply. The centre provides everything from brochures, pricing information and technical data to sales meeting appointments and demonstrator bookings.

GROWING OUR CUSTOMER BASE

Meanwhile, our newly created network of Fleet and Business Sales specialist dealers, which includes sites run by retailing giants Sytner Group, Listers, Gilder Group and Spire Automotive, continues to make headway with SME customers nationwide. And our list of blue chip corporate clients continues to grow thanks to awareness of, and satisfaction with, our ever-evolving, dynamic and appealing range. Recent recruits to the SEAT client list include Barclays Bank and National Grid.

Motability customers, too, are increasingly turning to the SEAT line-up. There are now Motability specialists in the vast majority of SEAT dealerships nationwide, while the charity continues to rate SEAT highly having named it 'best Manufacturer Partner' at its 2010 Supplier Awards and awarding a 'highly commended' position in the same category this year.

THE DRIVING FORCE

The cars are, of course, key to our success with fleet customers, with the SEAT Exeo, Alhambra and Ecomotive line-up leading the recent fleet sales charge. And thanks to the addition of a Multitronic gearbox option in the business class Exeo saloon and ST, as well as the continued assault on CO2 emissions by our extensive range of SEAT Ecomotive models, the product line-ups prove to be growing even more appealing to fleet managers and user-choosers alike.

Sally Livingstone-Dennis added: 'The economic climate, and outlook for business, may be mixed but that simply means fleet customers will be focusing more intently than ever on the best possible value. SEAT is ideally placed to provide that.'

SEAT EXPANDS FLEET MANAGEMENT

SEAT UK has announced that as part of our continuing, long-term, commitment to the fleet market we are significantly strengthening our regional fleet sales team. The enhanced team is expanding from four to eight regional fleet sales managers, in a move that’s designed to further underline our commitment to excellent customer service.

We are sure this move will bring significant benefits for existing and new SEAT Fleet customers, who will now be able to call on the expertise and support of a fleet sales manager based more conveniently in their region.
